Provided by Webglobe a.s., with its registered office at Stará Prievozská 1349/2, 82109, Bratislava, Company ID: 52486567, VAT ID: SK2121061899 (hereinafter referred to as “Webglobe”). Any customer – applicant for domain registration – who pays Webglobe for the domain name loss protection service (hereinafter referred to as the “Domain Insurance”) is guaranteed not to lose a properly registered domain if they are unable to renew the domain on time. The domain name loss protection service can be activated for domains with the following extensions: .SK, .CZ, .EU, .COM, .INFO, .ORG, .NET and .BIZ. A customer entering into this contract with Webglobe who is not the domain holder declares that they are authorised to act on behalf of the domain holder. Webglobe commits to taking all necessary steps to notify the customer in a timely manner of the upcoming expiration of the insured domain using the following methods:

  • E-mail notification 60 days before domain expiry

  • E-mail notification 40 days before domain expiry

  • Payment reminder 30 days before domain expiry

  • SMS notification 20 days before domain expiry

  • Reminder by e-mail 15 days before domain expiry

  • Phone call 15 days before domain expiry

  • SMS notification 10 days before domain expiry

  • Phone call 7 days before domain expiry

  • SMS notification about renewal and invoice issuance 5 days before domain expiry

All notifications and messages will be sent to the contacts provided by the payer during domain registration.

The price of the Domain Insurance is €8.95 (excluding VAT) per registered domain. The fee is payable within 14 days of the pro forma invoice being issued. If the customer fails to make the payment, the contract will be terminated no later than ten days after the due date.

The Domain Insurance fee is a one-time charge. The insurance expires upon the first renewal of the domain, its blocking or invalidation by the registry, or its transfer to another registrar. Upon the expiration of the insurance, the customer is not entitled to any compensation.

The Domain Insurance is non-transferable to another domain; it is always linked to the domain for which it was purchased. It can be ordered for both newly registered domains and for previously registered domains whose expiry date is more than 40 days from the order date. The insured domain must be managed by Webglobe and must not be subject to any registry-imposed restrictions such as blocking or invalidation.

If the customer fails to renew the insured domain despite all notifications and reminders, Webglobe is obligated to ensure the renewal of the domain registration itself.

After the Domain Insurance has been paid, the insured domain will be protected against unauthorised changes (locked against nameserver changes, contact changes, or transfer to another provider).

If the domain holder wishes to carry out any of the above changes, they must submit an authorised request. The customer agrees to make every effort to renew their domain in a timely manner based on Webglobe’s notifications.

If the customer is unable to renew the domain on time, they commit to paying Webglobe a renewal fee in accordance with the price list valid at the time of renewal, based on a pro forma invoice due within 14 days of issue. If payment is not made, the domain will remain locked against all changes.

These terms and conditions are valid and effective from 25 October 2022.
